San Deigo Comic Con

Tomorrow I head to San Deigo Comic Con, where I shall be at the SLG booth with copies of Nova Phase. So, If you or anyone you know happens to be at comic con, you can come buy a copy of Nova Phase!

I'll be betting people money that they'll like my comic. Actual human money. It will work simply, the comic is like six bucks, and I'm willing to bet you seven bucks you'll like it. So, if you buy it, read it, and hate it, I'll buy it back from you with my own personal cash monies.

So, if you want to help bankrupt me, tell everyone to come to the SLG booth at comic con where they can get dollar bills for telling me how bad my comic is after buying it.

Interviews. Lots of interviews.

So,

The last few weeks a large amount of interviews (for me) came out and went up.

Here they are:

http://www.oldmanandbittergirl.com/news/comic-review-nova-phase/ A very nice review, and a very nice interview. Both done expertly. Also, it's a cool site for reasons other than this.

http://www.fanboyplanet.com/interviews/mc-matthew-ritter.php Fanboy planet interviewed me. A whole planet of fanboys sound terrifying. I was thanked for my time, and it's a pretty good interview.

http://www.bleedingcool.com/2014/02/17/matthew-ritter-on-writing-8-bit-comics/ Of the random interviews, i think i liked this one the best, but mostly because it went off on tangents not related to the comic at all.

http://reglarwiglar.blogspot.com/2014/02/comics-review-nova-phase.html This was just a little review kind of thing. NOT an interview.

http://evilgeeks.com/2014/03/03/ep-066-nova-phase-with-matthew-ritter/ I was also on the Brotherhood of Evil Geeks podcast. I still don't know what a pod is, or how it can cast spells, but regardless, if you wonder what I sound like with my voice, this is the place for you.

I can make no guarantees that each and everyone of them doesn't have basically the same info. Also, I've never read them back to back, that could prove... repetitive.

Oh, and I guess, if you want to buy the comic or something and haven't already, go here:  http://www.comixology.com/Nova-Phase/comics-series/14632

The contest is over, some people won, some people didn't. You should know who you are if you won. check the Nova Phase tumblr if you're not sure. If you have no idea what I'm talking about? You most likely didn't win.

Oh no! Space Debris!

Oh no! Snide looks!

Oh no! Goggles!
Oh no! Space Coin!

Oh no! I just like how these two panels look!
Oh no! uh... talking!
So there's a smattering of panels from issue #3, which shall hopefully be out on comixology next month, unless horrible things happen.

If you want issue #1 and #2, they ARE out on comixology, right now! Go get them here: http://www.comixology.com/Nova-Phase/comics-series/14632

Until next time, space yuppies.

It's been a few days since the release.

Greetings cowboys of the space variety.

It has been a few days sense release of Nova Phase, and amazingly people are still writing reviews and talking about it. So, I'm here to give one of those blanket thanks to all the places that I heard of that were doing so.

Comic bastards wrote an amazing review. It's so nice it made me go 'did i create this review from the depths of my own imagination'.

Goodreads did a nice little spotlight on it. Which is awesome of them.

Fanboy Planet did a very nice review. Their only real negative comment was that the comic might work better in digital form thanks to the digital graphics. Quite possibly! I still like holding things in my grubby mits, and await the print copy next month.

Comic Book and Movie Reviews did an interview with me. I think one of the questions got gibberished up in the edit, but still, if you want to know more about Nova Phase, read it there.

ZAP! POWIE!

More coverage.

Greetings!

So the release was yesterday. I have no idea how it went. At all. Comixology doesn't give sales data until the end of the quarter.

But! A few other places put up coverage of the book, and it was all really nice. Like, makes me worried it looks like I was paying them, nice.

Comics Alliance said these things. Also, they spent way to much time on Twitter trying to get people to look at my book. For which I will name my first born son after them. His name shall be Comics Alliance Weebalo. (weebalo sounds way cooler than Ritter)

Comics Spectrum used the term 'astounding' to refer to my writing. I don't think I've ever astounded anyone before with the written word, and I hope the reviewer was okay afterwords. They also said a bunch of nice things about the art which I won't be sarcastic and weird about, because I think the art in this book is fantastic.

Mars Will Send No More did a nice spotlight of it. Also they have a badass name for a website. If you don't get it, which I didn't either, click their secret origin button and have your mind blown.

Comics Astonish did a write up. They told people to go buy my comic in all caps. I thank them. Anyone else who wants to follow in their footsteps? You have my blessing. It's also a good review.

Graphic Policy also did a nice spotlight preview thingy. Showing off art. Telling people of my book. Making me feel more important than I am. Yaknow the deal. That's what they did and I love them for it.

The comic is still up for sale, and will forever be up for sale as far as I know over here

Go buy it. It's good. Great even!

The comic is for sale on Comixology

The comic has dropped. It is for sale over on Comixology.

Go, buy it. Purchase it now. The first issue is for free, the second issue costs human money. So you can even read some of it and never ever give any money to me or anyone else. It is within your power.

http://www.comixology.com/Nova-Phase/comics-series/14632

It's a glorious day that terrifies me. Go, tell all other mortals of it. Prove to the universe that people kind of tolerate pixel art!

Amazing review up over at Comics Alliance - Comic Drops tomarrow.

http://comicsalliance.com/buy-this-book-nova-phase-1/

That is a review that is awesome. If you're on the fence about whether or not you want to spend money on Nova Phase, you should read that review and let it convince you that yes, money must be spent.

The comic should be for sale on Comixology tomorrow. I'll hopefully have some kind of a direct link to put up here.

Also, if you're obsessed with liking things on facebook, Nova Phase's face book is: https://www.facebook.com/8bitspacewestern

Where you can... see the same stuff I put up here, but in facebook form. Some people like that! Also, liking it over there makes it look more popular.

Yet another interview.

Greetings fellow space travelers who travel through space on a very strange orb shaped space ship named earth.

Another interview is up, this one is over at The Comic Book Script Archive. It isn't so much about Nova Phase as about some of my thoughts on if you want to try and become an established comic creator.

It's the depressing don't quit your day job kind of things you'd expect. I know I haven't quit my day job. That'd be nice. Then I would only have to go to my night job and could work on comics during the day.

This wendsday the comic comes out. I hope everyone is excited for awesome space western pixilated adventure. Anyone who isn't? Is dead to me.

There's a cool interview up with me and the artist up over at How To Love Comics. If you want to read interesting things about people who made a space western comic, that's the place to go. So go, right now! Read it!

Expect to hear from me on Wednesday, for obvious reasons.

Two weeks until release. More coverage is up.

So, it's two weeks until the comic is released.

A lot more reviews have gone up, and a lot more sites have posted the press release. I try and thank everyone that does a review personally if I can, even if it isn't positive, same with the press release going up, but I can easily miss people.

Robot 6 did a nice highlight. More of a recomendations then a full review, definitly positive.

Lez Get Real put up the press release. Super nice of them.

Comic adiction also did this, which is super duper nice of them.

Flordia Geek did a review. Peter Schmeiser over there wasn't a huge fan of the book, but I thank him for taking the time to write the review. He did not have to.

Geek Syndicate also put up the press release, super duper duper nice of them.

At Omnicomic jonathan Pilley did a wonderful review of the comic. Quite glowing.  I hope future issues do not disapoint him.

Over at Jazma Online Richard Vasseur liked, but did not love Nova Phase. I forgive him.

And finally, Comic Book Geekasm was also nice enough to put up the press release. That is as far as I know the current spectrum of cover on the book.

Which is super cool to me, that there are people reading it. Tens, who knows, someday maybe even twenties of people, reading my comic. I thank all these places, and if there are any I missed, I thank them as well.

THANKS TO ALL IN THE UNIVERSE!
